Looks like Alice’s work is pretty close to the 92nd Street Y. Tell her to swing by and check-in with Foursquare to get a free eco-tote. And if you venture west downtown, treat yourself to a half-price PBR at 92YTribeca.

An anonymous, twentysomething blogger is giving Mexicans what they can’t get elsewhere — an inside view of their country’s raging drug war.
An example of how blogs are a new force in keeping the mainstream media honest.
If we are to be perfectly honest, this is our favorite story this week.

Country in the City: New York Magazine On Rosanne...
It doesn’t fit the Johnny Cash legend, but he spent significant time in an apartment he owned at 40 Central Park South and stayed regularly at the Sherry-Netherland, the Plaza, and the Plaza Athénée.
“Those were some of the best memories of my adolescence,” she tells me over tea in her townhouse. “I saw Applause with Lauren Bacall and The Magic Show with Doug Henning. There were still Automats,...

To-Do Before The End of Your Day:
Celebrity Autobiography will be in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival all month! Don’t say we never gave you nothin’, U.K. Viewsers.
Old media has discovered Tumblr and is having a sufficient freakout about it. We’re just pissed we had to type “old media” in a sentence.
If you’re into this kind of thing, and you should...
It’s great to see media companies embracing the Tumblr platform. (One note: how did they leave out The Today Show? It’s one of our favorites.) We couldn’t imagine our online diet without the Tumblr community, and as an IRL non-profit community center since 1874, we appreciate good community when we see it!
We’ve been on Tumblr since 2008 and it would be great to see...
Celebrities reading celebrity autobiographies. Yup. A kind of literary Perez Hilton?
Celebrity Autobiography is a cabaret-style comedy show with a rotating cast of performers who read directly from autobiographies of famous people. For example, as seen in the video above, Mario Cantone reads from Zsa Zsa Gabor’s autobiography, One Lifetime Is Not Enough. “Terrified, I try to block...
