"Joy Behar’s Comics with Benefits" will feature a rare stand-up routine from Behar herself, as well as comedy from her friends including Andy Borowitz, winner of the first National Press Club award for humor, Emmy-Award winning actress Judy Gold, Darrell Hammond, Susie Essman, Mario Cantone, John Fugelsang, Wendy Williams, Rosie Perez, Sherri Shepherd and Dee Snider in addition to other notable names in the worlds of TV, film, theater and music. Current co-founder Vice President Al Gore and actress and singer Liza Minnelli; Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert and others will appear in special videotaped segments during the event.
100% of the proceeds will benefit two local charities, which are providing hurricane Sandy relief: UJA-Federation of New York, which cares for people in need, and Rebuilding Together, which repairs and renovates damaged homes.
